Lycopene
Higher circulating concentrations of lycopene in middle-aged men had a 45% lower risk of overall cancer compared to men with the lowest levels. Lycopene is a carotenoid, that functions as a natural pigment(gives certain fruits and vegetables their color). It is an antioxidant and protects from degenerative changes and carcinogenesis. Lycopene is mainly derived from tomatoes, also found in smaller amounts in papaya, pink grapefruit, watermelon, rosehip, apricot, guava.
