Why take B vitamins?

B vitamins include: Thiamine(B1), Riboflavin(B2), Niacin(B3), Pantothenic Acid(B5), Pyridoxine(B6), Cobalamin(B12), Biotin. In general, B vitamins are necessary for the proper metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. They are essential for energy production, functioning of the nervous system, and the formation and activity of hormones, neurotransmitters, and enzymes throughout the body. In addition, B vitamins are required for proper growth and development, as well as proper functioning of the heart, muscles, adrenal glands, and mucous membranes. B vitamins assist in lowering cholesterol, reduces homocysteine( a harmful substance linked to cardiovascular disease). I take a B-complex 50 mg., which gives me 50 mg. of all the B-vitamins each day.
