Eye Health
Taking Lutein along with Zeaxanthin can be used to help prevent cataracts and age-related macular degeneration(AMD). Those who are older, 60 and older, and those who are younger with a family history of eye problems, taking lutein and zeaxanthin could be beneficial. Research suggests that a minimum of 6-10mg of lutein a day is necessary to be therapuetic, this is according to the Lutein Information Bureau. Lutein and zeaxanthin can be found in certain foods such as spinach, eggs, corn, kale, broccoli, romain lettuce and zucchini, however our lifestyles in society today make it difficult to get nutrients such as lutein and zeaxanthin on a daily basis.
